In Their Own Words
Prasert Thanakit
Bangkok, Thailand
"I had been receiving a lower pension payment than I believed I was entitled to for nearly two years. After an initial review with Anurak Counsel, it became clear that a period of employment had not been correctly recorded. The appeal took about eight weeks. The corrected amount has since been applied."

"The pension review was thorough and explained clearly. I appreciated that there was no pressure to take any action afterwards — they simply set out my situation and my options. The written summary was particularly helpful for sharing with my family. I would have found it useful to have the appointment available on a weekday evening, but overall I found the service very professional."

"As a foreign resident, I was not confident about my Thai social security entitlements from several years of employment here. Anurak Counsel helped me understand what I had accumulated and what I could claim. Communication was clear and in English throughout. Very much what I needed."

"My pension claim was declined after I left my employer. I did not know where to turn. A friend mentioned Anurak Counsel. From the first message I sent, the responses were calm and clear. The appeal was successful. It took about ten weeks but I was kept informed throughout and never felt lost in the process."

"I am using the ongoing advisory service and have found it very reassuring to have someone knowledgeable to contact when my pension situation changes. My circumstances are a little complicated — two different employers over a long career — and having a consistent contact who knows the background makes a real difference."

Lena Bergström
Swedish national, Chiang Mai resident
"I contacted Anurak Counsel after reading about them online. My situation involved contributions made during a five-year work period in Bangkok. The team was straightforward and unhurried — exactly the opposite of what I had feared a legal consultation would be like. They wrote up a clear summary and I left understanding my position properly for the first time."

How Matters Have Unfolded
These accounts are drawn from cases handled over recent years. Details have been changed to preserve client privacy.
The Situation
Missing Contribution Records
A client in her late fifties discovered that six years of contributions from a mid-career employer were absent from her Social Security Office records. She had supporting documents from the period but had not known how to proceed.
What We Did
Document Review and Formal Submission
We reviewed the documents available — payslips, employment records, and partial SSO correspondence — prepared a formal submission for reinstatement of contributions, and corresponded directly with the relevant office on her behalf.
The Outcome
Records Reinstated
The six-year contribution period was reinstated in full after approximately eleven weeks. Her projected pension entitlement increased accordingly. She described the experience as "less frightening than I had expected."
"I had carried that worry for years without knowing what to do about it. Having it resolved was a considerable relief."
The Situation
Disability Pension Declined
A 49-year-old client had applied for a disability pension following a serious illness that prevented continued employment. His application was declined on procedural grounds without substantive review of his medical circumstances.
What We Did
Appeal Preparation and Representation
We identified the procedural deficiency in the original decision, prepared an appeal setting out the applicable legal basis, coordinated the medical documentation required, and represented the client's position through the appeal process.
The Outcome
Appeal Upheld
The appeal was upheld after approximately fourteen weeks, with the pension approved from the original application date. He noted that the process had been "clearer than he had feared" and that he had been kept informed throughout.
"At every stage I understood what was happening and why. That made an already difficult period considerably easier to manage."
